Jeff Wells has had a full life of fulfillment and service.  A former CEO of many global companies Jeff has always carried a passion for art and how it stimulates his  creativity and desire to understand light, color and depth.  

Jeff enjoys relishing in the beauty of our world and the special moments we have by being blessed to be alive in today's world with so much opportunity.   A sunset or a child's sweet smile are equal subjects of joy to ponder and capture on canvas or digitally. 

An avid outdoorsman, Jeff has traveled the world and explores places too difficult or remote for many.  One of his passions is the southern tip of South America in the Patagonia region, where much of his art and photography resonates from.

Jeff is a grandfather of 16 wonderful grandchildren and his three lovely daughters have provided a lifetime of joy.  Jeff incorporates moments from his special time with all of his family in many of his paintings.

As you get to know Jeff you will see similar passions for travel, flyfishing, golf, dance and reseaching family history.  He loves to be challenged and that shows in the varied approaches he takes to every new painting he attempts.  

Jeff has traveled all of the world for work and pleasure and he takes every opportunity he can to visit museums and study the famed and the unknown works of as many artists as he can, respecting everyone's approach and accomplishments.   Mostly self taught he has though participated in the Tucson Art Academy.

He has had a decades long passion for Patagonia in the countries of Argentina and Chile.  Jeff views Patagonia as the last pristine place on the planet where you can see nature uninterrupted by man and where natures offerings are on full display which he has captured in so many of his art works.

Personal Statement:   "In the act of painting, I have sought to discover that highest knowledge of beauty, poetic and philosophical, that has been the common thread between all of the great masters of Art. I have spent hours staring at the finest masterpieces in museums worldwide in an effort to decipher that meditative effect that distinguishes greatness from proficiency, and have made the creation of that sentiment my central goal as an artist now in the latter years of my life. Following this path has led me to study deeply the sciences of philosophy, design, linear perspective, anatomy, color, optics, architecture, botany, light and atmosphere with respect to their purposes in art, and I have built a foundation of consistent formal principles that work in harmony to illuminate meaning in painting. As my subject, I have chosen the universal human condition in this world, family values, spiritual enlightenment and have sought wherever possible to discard the sociopolitical fashions of contemporary culture in favor of those enduring sentiments that we all encounter in life.  I am a pure traditionalist.  It is my belief that to experience the beauty of our existence here in this magnificent landscape is the only way to happiness. My intention as an artist is to share that beauty."
